Terms of Use

By accessing the Scansecure website, placing an order, creating a profile, or using any Scansecure product or service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Scansecure ("we," "us," or "our").

Scansecure provides a physical emergency identification card embedded with a QR code ("the Card"), linked to a digital profile page ("Emergency Profile") that stores medical and emergency contact information provided by you.

Our service includes:

• A physical PVC card (credit-card sized) with a unique encrypted QR code.
• A safe online dashboard to create, manage, and update your Emergency Profile.
• A publicly accessible Emergency Profile page viewable via QR scan, without login.
• Optional features such as live location sharing, insurance details storage, and multiple emergency contacts.

To access the dashboard and manage your Emergency Profile, you must register an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and truthful information during registration and profile setup.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• All activities that occur under your account.
• Notifying us immediately at hello@scansecure.in if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You may not create multiple accounts for the same individual, share your account credentials with others, or use another person's account without their explicit written consent.

You agree to use Scansecure services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Enter false, misleading, or fraudulent medical or personal information in your profile.
• Use Scansecure to impersonate another person or create profiles on behalf of individuals without their consent.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, decompile, or tamper with the QR codes, database, or web application.
• Use our platform to transmit malware, spam, or any harmful code.
• Scrape, index, or harvest data from Scansecure's systems without written authorisation.
• Use the service in any way that could harm, disable, or impair our infrastructure.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, and may be reported to law enforcement where applicable.

Scansecure cards are currently priced at ₹249 per card (one-time fee, no recurring charges). All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes.

• Payment is processed securely through Razorpay or other authorised payment gateways.
• Your order is confirmed only after successful payment; we do not hold orders without payment.
• Delivery is estimated at 7–15 working days from order confirmation.

Refund Policy:

• If your card is lost in transit or arrives damaged, we will replace it at no cost. Contact us within 7 days of expected delivery.
• If your card has not been shipped, you may cancel and receive a full refund within 24 hours of ordering.
• Once a card is personalised, printed, and shipped, refunds are not available for change of mind.
• Replacement for cards lost or damaged after delivery is available at a nominal reprinting fee.

All content on the Scansecure website, including logos, design, text, graphics, software, and the QR generation system, is the exclusive intellectual property of Scansecure and is protected under applicable Indian and international intellectual property laws.

• You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on our content without written permission.
• The personal data you enter into your Emergency Profile remains your property. You grant Scansecure a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display that data solely for the purpose of providing the service.
• The Scansecure name, logo, and taglines are trademarks of Scansecure and may not be used without written consent.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Scansecure shall not be liable for:

• Any loss of life, injury, or harm arising from reliance on information displayed on your Emergency Profile.
• Failure of first responders, bystanders, or medical personnel to scan or act on your card's information.
• Service interruptions, data loss, or security breaches that occur despite our reasonable security measures.
• Incorrect information entered by the user resulting in adverse outcomes.
• Delays in card delivery caused by postal or courier service issues beyond our control.

Either party may terminate the service relationship at any time.

• By you: You may close your account at any time by logging in and selecting "Delete Account." Your QR profile will be deactivated immediately and your data deleted within 30 days.
• By Scansecure: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the platform in any way that harms other users or our operations.

Upon termination, your Emergency Profile will no longer be accessible via your QR code. Physical cards already delivered will become inoperative in terms of profile access, but the card itself is yours to keep.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

Before initiating legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation for a period of 30 days. If unresolved, disputes shall be referred to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• Send a notification to your registered email address at least 14 days before changes take effect for significant updates.
• Display a notice on your dashboard for minor changes.

Your continued use of Scansecure services after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree, you must stop using our services and may request account deletion.
